MOFO 2016 was a much more low-key affair than previous years. Moved from the cavernous shed on Hobart’s waterfront to the MONA museum itself, it was a weekend of discovery, with performances popping up all over the place, and percussion was the running theme of the weekend. A few days into the New Year of 2013, fires devastated the Tasman Peninsula. A last minute, all-star lineup fundraising concert was tacked onto the end of the MONA FOMA festival, raising thousands of dollars and turning into one of the highlights of the festival.
